Integrating previous knowledge and newly gained information assisted to design a project plan to serve the objective in which the prosperity for the end user, be it entrepreneurs, enterprises, small business owners or people involved in income generating projects and community is the main goal. Objectives: - To Provide Skills Training to Lazarus and Samaritan Ministries
- Involvement of Church Members as Volunteers
- Involvement of Business Owners
- Provide Skills Programme Certificate as proof of competence
Through the efforts of Ian Pitman, a member here at BMC, Zikhuliseni - the Zulu word for "Self Help" has received R2 million Rands Donation from Growthpoint Properties Limited. Growthpoint's contribution will go to building a vibrant centre which will house proficiency development initiatives which provide community training in a diversity of skills from computer skills to sewing, beadwork and iron work, bricklaying as well as a vegetable garden school. Zikhuliseni will form an integral element of Bophelong Place of Life, in Diepsloot. This initiative includes a number of community upliftment projects. The projects which will benefit directly from Growthpoint's corporate social investment in Zikhuliseni include Equip, which provides skills training for women focusing on sewing and craft. The goal of this project is to enable every person in Diepsloot to become self-sufficient through providing training in a number of skills and on graduation, where possible; trainees are supplied with equipment to begin their own business. During the past years the trainees earned nearly R250.000 through selling their products and skills. |
