Current Series

Sermon Series Starting on the 1st August 2010

Our next small groups series begins on the 1st August and will run concurrently with the sermon series entitled ‘Community Life'

A brief overview of what to expect from the next sermon series
In this series, we will look at various events in the Gospel of John where Jesus and His followers celebrated life together. Jesus teaches them, prays for them, encourages them, stretches them & calls them to follow Him. For 3 years the disciples lived & travelled together, hearing Jesus teach, watching Him perform miracles, seeing His compassion for the people around Him - receiving His love. There must have been good times and bad times for this group of men & women, just as there are for any group of people who gather together today. Let us listen for the voice of Jesus as He guides us through this series & helps us unite together even more closely in His love.

Previous Sermon Series - The Beautiful Game

At last the time for which South Africa has been gearing up has arrived, and with it our opportunity to reach out in Christian friendship and welcome visitors to our land, as the world arrives for The World Cup. Our next sermon series ‘The Beautiful Game' will look at the 10th chapter of John's Gospel to see how we can follow God's Game Plan for us. During this time the congregation will be challenged to go out to meet people beyond BMC to witness God's love and care for them through our service.

Previous Sermon Series - Living in the flow of the Spirit

John’s Gospel contains the most amazing description of Jesus’ final hours with His disciples.  During this time, Jesus prays, not only for His disciples, but for Himself and for His followers down the ages.  The first person to pray for us, you and me, was Jesus Himself!  He leaves His followers with a tremendous task – to carry on the work that He began and to spread the Good News far and wide, around the world and throughout the ages.  He has absolute confidence in both God and in us to carry out this work successfully.  There is no Plan B!  But He does not leave us to do this alone and promises to send the Helper – the Holy Spirit – to teach, guide, remind and equip us to fulfill our commission.  So the Holy Spirit is sent to empower the individual believer, to spread the Word of God, to draw people to the Father, and to build God’s Church using us as His agents.  John Ortberg says ‘the only way to become the person God made you to be is to live with the Spirit of God flowing through you like a river of living water.’   The Holy Spirit never leaves us but is there at all times to work in and through us.
