God has presented us with the most exciting opportunity during the FIFA World Cup™ this year. We are expecting close to a million visitors to the country (many from unreached countries). The entire country will come to a standstill over the 30 days of Soccer and festivities with everyone’s focus on sport.  This is our opportunity to use sport – a language everyone understands – to reach literally millions of people with the Gospel, our local community included. It is estimated that during 2006 World Cup in Germany, about 1million people set foot inside a church for the first time with activities run for the soccer!

With an event of this size come many potential dangers. The biggest Red Flag on the horizon this year is Human Trafficking. All the children will be out of school for six weeks, and at great risk. Our initiatives will be focusing on providing safe, family entertainment for our communities, as well as reaching people for Christ.

This is our chance for the churches of South Africa to unite and enable the single biggest revival this country has ever seen.

TUG is a national programme to unite all Christians to show the love of Jesus to South Africa, our visitors and the world during the FIFA World Cup™.

SASCOL (South African Sports Coalition) has adopted TUG (The Ultimate Goal) as the theme for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.  It will be a collaborative partnership of various Church Denominations, Para church organizations and agencies towards serving the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

Through TUG and partnership with the International Sports Coalition (ISC), the church is capturing the golden opportunity to transform the future generations of Africa. SASCOL operates under the mandate of the International Sports Coalition (ISC), which serves all major sports events, e.g. The Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup™, etc
